Make It Count
Sermon Note
[Psalm 90:1-2] A prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, through all the generations you have been our home! [2] Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, you are God.
Life is FRAGILE but God is ETERNAL.
[Isaiah 40:28] Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
God isn't RUSHED, because God's not limited to TIME.
[Psalm 90:5-6] You sweep people away like dreams that disappear. They are like grass that springs up in the morning. [6] In the morning it blooms and flourishes, but by evening it is dry and withered.
[James 4:14] How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog--it's here a little while, then it's gone.
You may not have as much time as you THINK, but you have enough time to live WELL.
[Psalm 90:7-8] We wither beneath your anger; we are overwhelmed by your fury. [8] You spread out our sins before you--our secret sins--and you see them all.
You were made for MORE than this LIFE.
[Psalm 90:12 ESV] So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.
Live with the awareness that your life MATTERS to God.
[Ephesians 5:15-16] So be careful how you live. Don't live like fools, but like those who are wise. [16] Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.
Wisdom is living TODAY in light of ETERNITY.
[Psalm 90:14-15] Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love, so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives. [15] Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery! Replace the evil years with good.
God does not just give you time, He REDEEMS the time you thought you LOST.
[Psalm 90:17] And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful!
A life SURRENDERED to God is never WASTED!
