Power for a Purpose

The Holy Spirit doesn't just want to do something IN you, He wants to do something THROUGH you.
[Acts 1:8] But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere--in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Jesus promises us POWER, but He attaches the power to a PURPOSE.
God's power was never intended to STOP with you.
[1 Corinthians 12:4, 7] There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. [7] A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.
The gift may be given TO me, but it isn't only FOR me.
[1 Peter 4:10 NIV] Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.
My gift isn't a TROPHY to display; it's GRACE to give away.
[1 Corinthians 4:7b] What do you have that God hasn't given you? And if everything you have is from God, why boast as though it were not a gift?
I don't have to BE the source, I just have to stay CONNECTED to the Source.
[1 Corinthians 12:7] A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.
The church isn't an AUDIENCE it's a BODY.
[1 Corinthians 12:27] All of you together are Christ's body, and each of you is a part of it.
Nobody has EVERYTHING, but everybody has SOMETHING.
[1 Corinthians 12:21] The eye can never say to the hand, "I don't need you." The head can't say to the feet, "I don't need you."
God didn't design us to be SELF-SUFFICIENT, He designed us to NEED each others.
[Acts 3:6] But Peter said, "I don't have any silver or gold for you. But I'll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!"
The Holy Spirit doesn't empower you to make you IMPRESSIVE; He empowers you to make a DIFFERENCE.
