New Life

Sermon Notes

New Life begins when you say YES to God.

[2 Corinthians 5:17] This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

You can’t live the New Life if you're still wrapped in your old IDENTITY.

[Ephesians 4:21-24] Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, [22] throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. [23] Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. [24] Put on your new nature, created to be like God--truly righteous and holy.

Jesus didn’t come to make you a BETTER version of the OLD you, He came to make you new.

[Luke 9:23-24 NIV] Then he said to them all: "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. [24] For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.

New life sounds exciting until it demands your COMFORT.

[Romans 12:1] And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice--the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

A living sacrifice means living a SURRENDERED life.

[Galatians 2:20] My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

God breathes LIFE into DEAD places.

[Romans 6:4] For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.

We are awakened so we can carry His LIGHT to world.
