Grasshopper Mindset
Sermon Notes
You will never take ground with your FEET if you haven't taken ground in your MIND.
[Numbers 13:32-33] So they spread this bad report about the land among the Israelites: "The land we traveled through and explored will devour anyone who goes to live there. All the people we saw were huge. [33] We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak. Next to them we felt like grasshoppers, and that's what they thought, too!"
You can take people out of BONDAGE in a moment, but it takes a long time to get the BONDAGE out of people.
God wants us to experience FREEDOM!
[Psalm 34:3 ESV] Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!
What you MAGNIFY in your mind will DOMINATE your life.
[2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV] We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Your mind is the territory the enemy fights HARDEST for.
[Joshua 1:6-9] "Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. [7] Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. [8] Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. [9] This is my command--be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
Meditation is filling your mind with GOD'S WORD until it changes who you are.
[Numbers 13:16] These are the names of the men Moses sent out to explore the land. (Moses called Hoshea son of Nun by the name Joshua.)
Taking ground in your mind requires STEPPING while still AFRAID.
[Joshua 3:15a] It was the harvest season, and the Jordan was overflowing its banks.
