He Showed Up

Sermon Notes

We are all called to SHOW UP.

[2 Timothy 1:15 ESV] You are aware that all who are in Asia turned away from me, among whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes.

A good friend shows up in the HARD TIMES.

[2 Timothy 1:16-17 ESV] May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains, [17] but when he arrived in Rome he searched for me earnestly and found me--

God's love shows up through FAITHFUL people.

[Hebrews 10:33-35] Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten, and sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things. [34] You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail, and when all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew there were better things waiting for you that will last forever. [35] So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!

Showing up won't make HEADLINES, but it will CHANGE lives.

A loyal friend is REFRESHING.

[Proverbs 25:13] Trustworthy messengers refresh like snow in summer. They revive the spirit of their employer.

Sometimes just being PRESENT makes all the difference.

[2 Timothy 1:18 ESV] may the Lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord on that day!--and you well know all the service he rendered at Ephesus.

God sees when you serve in the SHADOWS.
