Hunger for More

We often try to fill a SPIRITUAL hunger with TEMPORARY things. 

[Matthew 5:6 NIV] Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

God always fills those who SEEK Him.

[Job 23:12] I have not departed from his commands, but have treasured his words more than daily food.

Spiritual AWAKENING happens when we hunger for God more than we hunger for anything else.

Every MOVE of God began when people became HUNGRY for more of Him.

[Psalm 42:1-2 NIV] As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. [2] My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

Your hunger determines your DIRECTION.

[Matthew 4:1-2] Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. [2] For forty days and forty nights he fasted and became very hungry.

Fasting is all about EXPECTATION.

[Matthew 4:3-4] During that time the devil came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread." [4] But Jesus told him, "No! The Scriptures say, 'People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

[John 6:35] Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

God SATISFIES like nothing else can.

[James 4:8a] Come close to God, and God will come close to you.
